How Dunes was created
Our Story
Dunes golf travel was the brainchild of two brothers obsessed with the game of golf. Having grown up in The Southwest of Ireland Bobby & Conor grew playing courses like Ballybunion, Tralee, Waterville and Old Head. It was playing these courses that gave the lads an unrivalled passion for Irish Links Golf. Now there aim is use their passion to make your golf trip the very best it can be. Introduced to the game at an early age by their dad the lads spent their summers golfing. As they got older they started to spend their summers and winters golfing always travelling further a field to find a links course they hadn’t played yet on the emerald Isle. Its safe to say at this stage they have played every course that could ever be included on any Itinerary worth its salt so any questions on the courses, just ask.
Meet Conor
Having started his career in the golf industry under the watchful eye of famed PGA professional David Keating in Killarney Golf & Fishing Club, Conor spent 3 years there where he gained valuable experience in the Golf & Tourism industry. From there he completed his business degree and worked in a Marketing role before heading back to the golf industry where he spent 3 years working for one of Ireland’s largest golf tour operators organising bucket list golf trips for golfers all around the world. It was here where he cut his teeth in this game before deciding to start Dunes Golf Travel. Playing off scratch and having played the most famous Links courses in Ireland under championship conditions on the Irish amateur golf circuit Conor has a wealth of course knowledge and is sure to give you some valuable tips as he helps build your dream Itinerary on the best golf courses Ireland has to offer.
Meet Bobby
Bobby’s career also started out in the golf industry spending 4 years working in his local golf club, Kanturk, in an administration role in tandem with completing his business degree in university. He then made the move out of the industry completing his chartered accountancy degree where he still continues to work in practice. As a single figure golfer for the last 10 years he has also had the opportunity to play the biggest and best courses across the island of Ireland although not with the same precision as Conor !! His love for links golfs and his desire for Ireland to be recognised as the no. 1 golf destination in the world pushed him to start Dunes Golf Travel with Conor.
