We’ve been welcoming golfers on Ayrshire golf trips for years, and we can confidently say that this spectacular coastal region represents the pinnacle of any Scotland golf tour. Located just an hour southwest of Glasgow, Ayrshire’s championship links offer an unparalleled concentration of world-class golf that we’re proud to showcase to our clients year after year.
Ayrshire boasts 3 courses ranked in the top 100 in the world—Turnberry, Royal Troon, and Prestwick—each steeped in Open Championship history and offering distinct challenges. Turnberry’s Ailsa course, dramatically perched along rugged cliffs overlooking the Isle of Arran, delivers some of the most breathtaking holes in golf. Royal Troon, with its fearsome Postage Stamp hole, has tested the world’s best players since 1878. Prestwick, the birthplace of The Open Championship, offers quirky, historic charm unlike anywhere else. We ensure every Ayrshire Golf Trip we organize includes these legendary venues alongside outstanding supporting courses like Western Gailes, King Robert De Bruce & Dundonald.
Day 1 Dundonald
This morning you will arrive into Edinburgh or Glasgow Airport and make your way to the stunning Dundonald for the first round of your Scotland Golf Trip. Dundonald Links is a modern championship links course set on Scotland’s famed Ayrshire coast, offering a true test of links golf in immaculate condition year-round.
Day 2 Trump Turnberry (King Robert De Bruce)
Incredibly underrated and set along Scotland’s rugged west coast, named for the legendary king born near the iconic Turnberry Castle ruins. Masterfully redesigned as a modern championship layout, this par-72, 7,200-yard course blends strategic bunkering and firm, wind-swept fairways with breathtaking views of the Ailsa Craig, the Turnberry Lighthouse and the Firth of Clyde. This can’t be missed on a Turnberry Golf Trip
Day 3 Royal Troon (Old Course)
Probably the most famous course on this Scotland Golf Trip – a traditional out-and-back links course. The opening few holes are relatively gentle, with a series of short par fours running along the Firth of Clyde, however the inward nine are brutal and ofte play into a strong breeze
Day 4 Western Gailes
Western Gailes is a classic Scottish links course that stands among Ayrshire’s most authentic and challenging tests of seaside golf. The routing is unique and engaging, with holes hugging the coastline and demanding strategic shot-making over firm turf and natural terrain. Its reputation has drawn golf greats from around the world, and the course is regularly used as a final qualifying venue for The Open Championship
Day 5 Prestwick
Although the sea air may be fresh, the aura that surrounds Prestwick is doused in pure legend. From the cauldron atmosphere of the first tee to the heroic closing hole, Prestwick delivers golf on a grand and epic scale. Playing Prestwick is more than a round of golf — it’s walking through the early history of the game and experiencing a timeless links that helped shape competitive golf as we know it today.
Day 6 Trump Turnberry (Aisla)
Perched on Scotland’s rugged west coast, the Championship Ailsa is one of the world’s most celebrated links courses. Consistently ranked among the global top ten, it offers sweeping views across the Firth of Clyde to Ailsa Craig and the Isle of Arran. Revered for both its natural beauty and demanding layout, the Ailsa holds a proud and enduring place in the world of golf. One of the pinnacles of any Scotland Golf package
