As a passionate golf tour operator who’ve explored every corner of the Emerald Isle, we believe a Northwest of Ireland Golf Tour offers Ireland’s most authentic and breathtaking golf experience. Spanning the rugged counties of Mayo, Sligo, and Donegal, this spectacular region combines world-class links golf with dramatic Atlantic coastlines and genuine Irish hospitality that remains wonderfully unspoiled.
A Golf Trip to The West of Ireland showcases remarkable variety, from the championship tests of County Sligo Golf Club (Rosses Point) and Enniscrone to the stunning beauty of Carne Golf Links, carved from towering dunes on Mayo’s remote Belmullet Peninsula. However, the crown jewel is St. Patrick’s Links at Rosapenna in Donegal—the newest course in the world’s top 50, a spectacular testament to modern links design that’s quickly become essential on any serious golfer’s itinerary.
Day 1 Kilmore 9 at Carne
Today you will arrive into Shannon & Dublin Airport and make the trip to the remote Carne for the first few holes of your Northwest of Ireland Golf Tour. Once you arrive you can head out for 9 holes to get rid of that jet lag on the stunning Kilmore 9 at Carne
Day 2 Hackett Course Carne
After loosening out yesterday, this morning you will be ready for the Hackett course at Carne. Designed by the legendary Irish course designer Eddie Hackett your are truly on the edge of the earth playing this course and there is no better place to be !
Day 3 Enniscrone
Known for its high dunes and a few blind tee shots you have to be good off the tee at Enniscrone to build a score. A caddie is certainly advised here due to the number of blind shots, its always best to have someone by your side that knows where they are going !
Day 4 County Sligo
Today you will play the world famous “Rosses Point”. Host venue to annual West of Ireland amateur championship where the best amateurs in the country and beyond descend on the course every Easter. The event has a pretty famous roll of honour with past winners including Padraig Harrington, Shane Lowry, Harry Diamond and a certain back to back champion named Rory McIlroy !
Day 5 Narin & Portnoo
Probably the one course on your golf trip to The Northwest of Ireland you would call a “hidden gem” Narin & Portnoo is quickly loosing that tag as more and more golfers are making the trip to see the new and improved world class links land of Narin & Portnoo. Having recently undergone a massive re design from Gil Hanse Narin & Portnoo has some of the quirkiest holes on the Itinerary. That combined with its playability makes it a must for your Northwest of Ireland Golf Tour !
Day 6 Sandy Hills
Today its time to batten down the hatches as you play the challenging Sandy Hills. An incredibly demanding course off the tee its a necessity to be accurate and desirable to be long but I guess when isn’t it !. Despite its challenging nature Sandy Hills is an exceptional course and offers something very different to its siblings Old Tom & St. Patrick’s.
Day 7 St. Patricks Links
What better way to finish your West of Ireland Golf Trip than to play world top 50 ranked St. Patrick’s Links. An incredible achievement to be ranked so high considering The Tom Doak Masterpiece only opened in 2021. A little more forgiving off the tee than Sandy Hills, St. Patrick’s is superb from start to finish and will only continue to climb course ranking lists as it ages. The real question is how high will it go !
